One of the major hazards is that when there is a leak on the transmitting pipe that can results in leakage of hot steam. This may cause the heater to heat up with give out constant heat level and can undergo malfunction. Therefore, valves are present to prevent the heater from overheating as the heater can be manually shut off to prevent accidents.
Besides that, there are many more hazards to be discussed about such as leakage of the feed inlet, the leakage of the carbon dioxide gas that can cause gas poisoning that depletes oxygen levels. The probability of these hazards can be reduced by also having trained and skilled professionals to handle the equipment during operation hours.
