Reflection on KRD subject
KRD has been the toughest of them all for me. Dr Suzana has been doing a great job in class as she makes every class very hands-on. By ensuring that we practise the questions and submit the answers during class itself, we at least get a rough idea of the lesson taught for the day. There was no KRD lecture that I have attended so far to leave the class without feeling mind-boggled. It is a great initiative from her side and I really appreciate her great efforts. I probably just have to work harder after class and do extra reading to be able to comprehend the subject better. I am also really looking forward to attending Dr Tazli’s lectures as so far I look at him as a lecturer with a very unique teaching style.
Reflection on CPDIC subject
CPDIC has posed to be an equal challenge. I sometimes do get lost in class as the number of equations and energy balances that we do… pheww! I never in my wildest dreams ever thought that I would be facing Laplace Equations and Taylor Series in my life ever again but sometimes, nightmares do come dressed as day-dreams. (lol) Anyhow, Dr Abbas has been a great lecturer as he explains the subject in a very in-depth manner. I really appreciate his tremendous efforts in aiding us to understand the subject better. I believe that with more practise I will surely get used to the numerous equations faced and let’s hope I will be able to cope better as the semester goes by.
Reflection on PSLP subject
PSLP has been good so far. The way Dr Dzul conducts the class makes the subject very easily understandable. He is one cool lecturer who ensures the class never gets boring and a big thank you to him for his efforts. I was initially mistaken about this subject as I first thought it was a very theoretical subject. Only after a few classes did I realise that it was a super mathematics-involved subject and I am so glad that so far I can understand what has been taught it class. Hopefully, this continues for the whole semester. Hehe!
Reflection on the board game
I find this project to be a very interesting one. It challenges us to think out of the box constantly and I believe it has made us more creative engineers in many ways. The development of the game, I must agree, was challenging. We had to take into account so many factors and we had to think as a game designer, a game player and also as an engineer. Coming up with the questions were another whole different encounter by itself. Multiple readings of various reading materials were necessary and the task to formulate the question in such a way that it satisfies the necessary requirement surely wasn’t an easy feat. Nonetheless, this board game posed to be a very stimulating one and I really enjoyed working in this team to complete this game successfully
REFLECTION ON KRD QUESTIONS
I did the questions for KRD and hence it was vital for me to read up the topics related so that I could come up with the right type of questions. I also read up a lot on bloom taxonomy and I learnt to appreciate the complexity of forming the questions. I tried to make the questions easy but tricky at the same time as I didn’t want to include too many complicated calculations. I really hope that the players will enjoy answering the questions and playing the game.
REFLECTION ON CPDIC QUESTIONS
Initially my colleague came up with a lot of calculations related questions which were really challenging. However after discussing together, we decided to include some theory related questions also to ease the players. I hope the players can answer these questions and will have a great time with the game.
REFLECTION ON PSLP QUESTIONS
This part was most challenging for me as there were only 2 chapters from where we had to include questions from. Nonetheless, we managed to come up with some questions and I hope it caters to the specific area of difficulty needed.
My Contribution to the Project
I am actually very glad to be in this team. I can confidently say that most of the things were done together and I believe the whole team learnt a lot through this whole process of completing the project. We started by first brainstorming for ideas for the game. I came up with the concept of relating the game with solving some mysteries and then we added a lot of extra ideas to that. We also brainstormed a lot for the tiniest details that were related to the game such as the moving pieces of the players to the colour coordination of the whole board. Later on as we developed the game further, I was responsible to specifically get questions for KRD and later on we went through all the questions together to ensure that they were up to the standard needed. I really hope that the players will have a good time playing the game and my sincere gratitude goes to every member of the team who has contributed to the best of their abilities to make “Genshiro” a truly memorable game.
