My contribution to the second project
The second project was obviously a more tedious assignment give to us by Mr.Tazli during the semester. However, the assignment becomes more relevant especially for those who will be advancing in their career in the factories or labs. Our group set out with the goal to find out something interesting that we can actually present as our reaction base. In lame man term, we all obviously cracked our head figuring out the reaction we are about to adventure just to find out that that was the easy part as the other parts were enormous tidal waves trying to drown us. Since the brainstorming of the whole masterpiece was a group work, we then decided taking parts in building the structure of our project. My contribution was helping out dealing the reaction that we wanted and to further on from there, I contributed on the reactor sizing and the full reaction equation. Besides that, I also took up the part of structuring the HAZOP table. In a coconut shell, it was always teamwork that not only made our project a completed one but also a success one.
Reflection of PSLP
The subject never got confused or haywire in my situation. Dr.Zul, the sorcerer behind PSLP made it all look as if we were enjoying the lessons throughout the semester. His approach was simple indeed yet astonishingly productive as the approach was likeable by students. The lab sessions were indeed fun yet intoxicating with knowledge as the GA’s not only elaborate to us about the experiment but gives us knowledge beyond it. Moreover, the knowledge can be used in the future as we advance ourselves to our specific careers. The lab and classes were handled very much well for this semester and the approach was extremely good. Hazards and precautionary steps are well much digested during this semester and future is looking good as a qualified safety commissioner.
Reflection of CPDIC
The most indigestible subject of the semester, not to mention terrified hearing its name. CPDIC has been the core of chemical processes in the factories or lab and the subject revolves around how we manage to control the process as if we don’t, the process may control us in specific ways. Both lecturer’s, Dr. Abbas and Dr. Haslinda has set the mark of expectations that the students should reach and the marks is sometimes a breakpoint for most students. The subject needs time and patience where most students lack in this age. I hope the subject is not a dragger with all the practices and lessons that we have been going through this semester. In short, hoping for the best in this subject with the exams around the corner.
Reflection on KRD
This semester came with a twist in this subject with the footstep of Mr.Tazli in the picture. The unorthodox style of teaching was hard to digest in the starting but his approach made us realize the versatility of the subject. The semester started with Dr.Suzana with the traditional style of Malaysian lecture and the start off eventhough bumpy, we managed to “ land the plane safely”. Dr. tazli came in with a all new online attendance with yuotube video lesson and online quizzes. It was a feeling of juming into future. However, he has been a very patience, lenient not to forget very flexible person who can play along with what the students preferred. KRD has been a moderate subject when it comes to the degree of hardness eventhough Dr.Suzana has shown us how much this subject can deceive us. In short, the subject has been on smooth and small bumpy sails so far and hoping that it maintains its course till the finals.
Reflection on the second project
The second project had a lot of relevance to the future we are looking at eventhough we were unable to detect so. This is maybe that our commitment quota was just not enough to be thrown into the project. The real deal here was that time was the biggest barrier when it came to the project. I would say that not enough solid time was spent on the project as we had other priorities such as assignments, test and finals that we would have loved to focus on. Anyhow, we managed to slot time I to prefect this project. The outer part of the project was easy to be figured out but most of us loss our energy when it came to understanding and building the inner structure of the project. I believe its maybe that we have not trained our mind to think as an engineer due to the lack of exposure to real situation. But the project never created permanent scars among the groupmates and yes , there were temporary ones. But the main focus is to make the project a success and the main aim was achieved in this project. A honest reflection on this project will be that nothing comes easy in life and with the solid amount of energy and strength and with god’s grace, we will be able to achieve what we strive for. I hope this project not only focus on building the knowledge but also reading out a very much needed moral lesson in our daily life.
